According to People magazine, Halle Berry celebrated her daughter Nahla's third birthday with a small party at her Malibu beach house. This comes at the end of a busy week for the X-Men star, which had her traveling from New York to Miami and back across the country to Los Angeles to see her little one.

Berry covered her house with blue, red, green and purple balloons. After enjoying cake, they took the party to the beach, where the children were delighted by the site of a red and blue bouncy castle. A source told the news outlet that few birthday gifts were given, as only three or four of Nahla's friends had been invited. Notably absent was her father, Gabriel Aubry and her mother's current boyfriend, Olivier Martinez.

The celebration was a welcome respite from what had proved to be a difficult custody battle between Berry and Aubry. According to TMZ, the Canadian model filed for paternity back in January after talks between the two broke down.
