Throw a princess baby shower for your loved one’s impending arrival

February 25, 2011 by Candy Wrapper Store

Thank heaven for little girls! Although having a son is a wonderful thing, there's something special about our daughters. It goes without saying that they can melt our hearts even when they're running amuck throughout the day and causing a commotion all evening.

If you currently have a close friend or family member who is expecting a girl, why not throw her a princess-inspired baby shower? By the time her little one is old enough to walk and talk, it's likely she'll be obsessed with frilly get-ups and pretty pink dresses anyway.

First, pick out some extra sweet baby shower invitations. Remember, if the affair isn't a surprise, you may want to get the expectant mama's input on what she loves best.

Additionally, don't forget to stock up on amazing party extras. Candy wrapper favors that feature the mom-to-be's image on them will be especially appreciated. Give guests one each and the woman of honor a few more – after all, she's currently eating for two, and you'll want to keep her sweet tooth satiated.

Last-minute Oscar party ideas

February 24, 2011 by Candy Wrapper Store

With the Academy Awards just a few nights away, you may be starting to stress out as you prepare to host a viewing party. Luckily, the Oscars are practically begging for a corresponding event and coming up with some quick ideas to keep your guests entertained is as easy as saying "action!"

Make sure there's plenty of food. The ceremony is long and you don't want your guests feeling hungry before Best Picture is announced. Plastic dinnerware is ideal for a night like this and ready-made food will alleviate a lot of your responsibilities. You can find any number of quickly-heated party dishes at the grocery store and chips and dip will work wonders here. Try and stick to easily-handled food as your guests will be eating on the couch.

Use the many, many commercial breaks to mingle. You can find a printable list of movie trivia online in no time. Organizing an informal Oscar pool will keep your guests engaged throughout the evening.

When the evening's festivities are over, send your guests home with a movie-themed goodie bag. Some quick party favor ideas are flavored popcorn, mini boxes of candy and a personalized gift like a tiny Oscar statue, if you're feeling creative.

Throw a sports-themed birthday bash for your son

February 24, 2011 by Candy Wrapper Store

A sports-themed party is a great way to celebrate your son's birthday. Not only are they easy and inexpensive to put together but the kids will absolutely love it.

This theme really lets you get creative. You can either focus on a specific sport that's in season (if it's a summer birthday, throw a baseball party, football for fall, etc) or do all at once! Making a "ticket" invitation on the computer is simple. The information should include the date, start time (kickoff, first pitch) and location. Finding athletic clip art will be no problem.

You can get your hands on a sports-inspired cake easily as well. Most supermarkets will sell cakes with a variety of athletic images on them, so take your pick! You can order personalized candy wrappers that boast your little one's name as well.

If the party is outside, your job is simple. Just have the kids play tee-ball, touch football or really any activity that will get them running around. If the shindig is indoors, you can have the children watch a sports movie like The Sandlot. A "tailgate" party with Cracker Jacks, nachos and a sub will keep the kids happy and full.

Make your sweetheart’s birthday super sweet with some candy favors

February 23, 2011 by Candy Wrapper Store

Most of us have scores of chances to show how much we care about our loved ones throughout the year. From Valentine's Day to anniversaries, it seems as though there are plenty of occasions to shower our sweethearts with affection.

Of course, those looking to make their significant other feel special shouldn't forget about the importance of a birthday. When it comes down to it, this your partner-in-crime's day to shine, and you want to help them feel like the most beloved person in the world.

First, send out birthday invitations. These can be simple or out-of-sight, depending on his or her overall personality.

Additionally, try to purchase a number of unforgettable decorations. If your honey adores a particular movie or plays a sport, don't hesitate to incorporate it into the décor or use it as a theme.

Finally, stock up on some exciting birthday party favors. Send guests home with an overstuffed goodie bag or even chocolate bars that boast the date of the affair. Your sweetheart – and all the guests – are going to love it.

Will and Kate have sent their wedding invitations!

February 18, 2011 by Candy Wrapper Store

Those who have been religiously following the wedding planning of Prince William and Kate Middleton are in luck, as new information has been released about the upcoming royal nuptials. According to People magazine, the couple has mailed their wedding invitations.

"They're in the process of being sent out," an insider told the news source. The invitations were kept in the office of Lord Chamberlain, the man responsible for sending the cards to the appropriate people.

While most people may not receive an invitation in the mail, they can still celebrate the impending vows of the beautiful young couple. The Nottingham Post reports that Castle Rock Brewery is making a special beer to commemorate the royal wedding, fittingly titled Kiss Me Kate ale. It is set to hit pubs one month before the April 29 ceremony.

"Kiss Me Kate will be elegant, tasteful and British to the core," Castle Rock head brewer Adrian Redgrove told the news outlet. "It'll be brewed to 5 percent, pale in color and we're sure it'll be the ideal way to toast the couple's future happiness. We'll certainly be enjoying it in our celebrations here at the brewery."
