Have your wedding favors match your cake

January 19, 2011 by Candy Wrapper Store

While weddings are usually filled with a lot of traditions, one of the most celebrated customs is cutting the cake, as it shows a couple's sweet but silly side. Instead of letting this moment rush by, commemorate the event by sending guests home with wedding favors that match the cake.

The best way to tie your favors to the confection is through taste. If you have a cocoa-flavored wedding cake, hand out chocolate bars with personalized candy wrappers. Those who prefer fruit-filled desserts can send guests home with personalized lollipops instead.

You can also present your favors in wrappers that boast the same colors as your wedding cake. This subtle nod to the ceremonious confection is sure to be appreciated by all.

If you know what the dessert will look like ahead of time, take a picture of the confection and have the image printed on wedding favor wrappers. Guests will be reminded of your beautiful cake as they dig into their treats on the way home.

Regardless of the approach you choose, matching your favors to your cake is an endearing way to honor one of the first sweet moments you will share as man and wife.

Kidman and Urban welcome new daughter

January 19, 2011 by Candy Wrapper Store

Congratulations are in order for Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban. The superstar couple will soon be sending out birth announcements as they recently welcomed a darling baby girl to their family, People magazine reports.

Faith Margaret was born via a surrogate on December 28 in Nashville, Tennessee, though the baby is the couple's biological child.

"They never gave up faith they'd have another child together," a source told the publication, with another friend adding that the couple is absolutely thrilled.

Kidman recently spoke about her and her husband's joy.

"We spent Christmas on tenterhooks and after Faith Margaret was born on December 28, a healthy 8 lbs., 9 oz., we spent New Year's on cloud nine," Kidman said in a statement. "We have been having a wonderful bonding experience with Faith Margaret and feel truly blessed."

Urban and Kidman were married in 2006. This is Urban's second child and Kidman's fourth. The actress gave birth to Sunday Rose two years ago, and has two kids from her previous marriage to Tom Cruise – Isabella, 18, and Connor, 15.

Reuse holiday decorations for an upcoming birthday party

January 18, 2011 by Candy Wrapper Store

Now that the holidays are over, many households are undoubtedly filled with Christmas lights left over from the seasonal celebrations. Instead of packaging them up for next year (or worse – throwing them away!), use these strands in new ways for innovative birthday party decorations.

While stringing up Christmas lights may create a Yuletide-like atmosphere, when displayed in different ways, these strands can contribute to a fun and festive decor.

Instead of lighting up a fire in the fireplace, which can easily make a room too hot, InStyle magazine suggests wrapping Christmas lights around logs and placing them beneath the chimney. Best of all? You don't need a working fireplace to use this trick!

Christmas lights can also be used to create gorgeous fixtures for a great tablescape. Simply tangle the strands together and place them inside an upside-down glass jar or vase. However, the publication recommends only attempting this with LED lights, or else the glass may overheat.

While reusing lights is a great idea, don't recycle Christmas candy. Pick up personalized birthday favors for the affair – your guests will surely appreciate the gesture!

Easy ways to create a festive decor

January 18, 2011 by Candy Wrapper Store

Whether hosting a baby shower or a birthday party, those throwing a party in their own home should spend time on the decor to create a festive atmosphere. However, preparing your abode doesn't have to be too complicated.

For a cost-effective and beautiful tablescape, event planner David Stark recommends wrapping empty bottles with metallic tape and filling them with fresh flora.

"You won't need many [flowers] because the bottle openings are small," he told InStyle, adding that tea candles can create a warm and inviting glow.

Take advantage of space to add flair wherever possible. Stark suggests covering the refrigerator door in brightly colored post-it notes to create a bold pattern or fun design.

Party favors can be incorporated into the decor as well.

"I like to fill glass jars with a variety of candies and set them out in a table in my foyer along with metal scoops and tiny paper bags," Stark told the publication. "It's a nice way for people to take a little piece of the celebration home."

Hershey kiss candies and personalized lollipops are great treats that will look as good as they taste!

Plan a budget-friendly baby shower

January 17, 2011 by Candy Wrapper Store

Throwing a baby shower is a fun project, but from decorations to food , it can also be fairly expensive. With a few expert tips, however, you can host an awesome shower without breaking the bank.

While you may be anxious on getting a jump on the planning, wait until guests RSVP to buy supplies or go grocery shopping. The amount of guests can dictate how many things you'll need, so you'll want a fairly accurate sense of who is coming so that you don't buy too much and waste money.

You also shouldn't feel obligated to empty your wallet buying decorations.

"If you place the focus on guests interacting, the party can be just as meaningful," reports the Creston News Advertiser. Experts recommend letting guests write messages in a blank guestbook for the mom-to-be.

Finally, baby shower favors are a great way to show your guests that their presence was appreciated. Luckily, there are budget-friendly options like personalized lollipops and chocolate bars. Pals will enjoy the sweet treats and your party is bound to be a cost-efficient success.
